2 Peter 3:1-14

GOD’S WILL

 

  • The side we can’t fully know now: God’s secret will.

(Ephesians 1:11; Acts 4:27-28; Psalm 139:16; Isaiah 46:9-10)

 

  • Our response: trust

 

  • The side we can know now: God’s revealed will.

(1 John 2:15-17; Hebrews 13:20-21; Matthew 7:21)

 

  • Our response: obey

 

The hidden things belong to the Lord our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.

(Deuteronomy 29:29)

 

 

CHRIST’S RETURN

(verses 1-10)

 

  • God is graciously patient.

 

  • God is not indefinitely patient.

 

 

LIVING IN LIGHT OF GOD’S WILL

 

  • Live for what is eternal.

 

  • Proclaim the gospel.

 

  • Live lives of holiness.
