SUFFERING, GROANING, AND GLORY

(verses 18-25)

 

• Present suffering is worth it because of the promise of future glory.
• Creation is included in the fall.
• Therefore, creation is a place of pain and suffering.
• God is redeeming all things.
• We are a people of hope and patience.

 

 

HELP, ASSURANCE, AND GLORY

(verses 26-30)

 

The Spirit’s Help (verses 26-27)

• We are weak, sometimes not even knowing how to pray.
• The Spirit intercedes for us in perfect alignment with God’s will.

 

The Father’s Assurance (verse 28)

• “We know” – assurance
• “Those who love God…who are called according to His purpose” – His children
• “All things” –
  • Good
  • Bad
  • Failures
  • “Work together for good” – God’s providence

 

The Son’s Glory (verses 29-30)

• Those God…
  • foreknew
  • He predestined
    • To be conformed to the likeness of His Son
• He called
• He justified
• He glorified
