Romans 8:1-13

NO CONDEMNATION

(verses 1-4)

 

  • In Christ = no condemnation ever

 

  • In Christ = free forever from the power of sin and death

 

  • God has done this in Christ.

 

 

LIFE ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT

(verses 5-11)

 

Identity

 

  • Your mind is set on the things of the Spirit.
    • à Life and peace

 

  • The Holy Spirit dwells in you.

 

  • You have the hope of life.

 

Our biggest problem: forgetfulness

 

 

PUT SIN TO DEATH

(verses 12-13)

 

  • We no longer live according to “the flesh.”

 

  • “The flesh” no longer has any right over us.

 

  • Live according to who you are in Christ—intentionally put sin to death.
